For conservation areas, listed buildings and those that simply love timber windows we can provide handmade timber windows with Argon filled high efficiency glass for the best of both worlds. We can specify any glass or manufacturing method to suit any style or property requirement.
Materials range from softwood at the lower end of the cost scale to hardwoods for exceptional longevity or even solid oak! While timber windows are generally around twice the price of uPVC they are all locally hand build often from locally sourced materials. A popular option is hardwood windows with an internal oak veneers. This gives the appearance of a solid oak window internally, but an easy to paint hardwood sapele face externally plus much cheaper than solid oak.
They can be installed and left unfinished (always treated or primed at least before leaving the workshop to protect from the weather) ready to apply your own or we can paint, stain or varnish them while in the workshop before assembly. This is our preferred option as it means every nook and cranny that may otherwise be inaccessible is fully protected from the elements.
We use an incredibly talented local craftsman to hand make all our timber windows and doors from scratch. Every item is a true work or art and will enhance the appearance of any property. He has combined the best of timber with the security of upvc by installing multi point shoot bolt locks (the same as on out upvc windows) into timber. This gives an enormous improvement to a standard timber windows security and opens up a huge choice of hardware options to choose from.
